Frequently asked questions about cloud migrations
How does a cloud migration work?
In four phases: we first assess your workloads and create a migration plan, then prepare the target environment and dependencies. The migration itself happens in stages, with critical systems migrated live. Finally we optimize resources and cost (right-sizing).
What is the 6R strategy?
The 6R strategy is an assessment model for cloud migrations: every application is assigned one of six paths — rehost, replatform, refactor, repurchase, retire or retain. Each workload gets the right migration path instead of a one-size-fits-all lift & shift.
Will there be downtime during the migration?
Critical systems are migrated live so your business keeps running during the move. Where short cutover windows are unavoidable, we schedule them together with you during low-traffic periods.
How long does a cloud migration take?
It depends on the number and complexity of your workloads. The assessment produces a reliable schedule; simple environments migrate within a few weeks, while complex landscapes move in stages over several months.
What happens after the migration?
We don't lift & shift inefficiencies: after the move, resources are optimized for the cloud model (right-sizing), operational processes are modernized, and we can continue running the environment as a managed service.
